JOB DESCRIPTION
Role Overview
As a Clinical Nurse on the Medical Oncology unit, you will provide direct inpatient care in accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act and Hoag Patient Care Services standards. You will collaborate closely with oncologists and interdisciplinary team members to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered oncology care across the cancer care continuum.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide safe, compassionate inpatient oncology nursing care
· Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications following ONS standards
· Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, nurse navigators, social work, palliative care, and case management
· Educate patients and families and support transitions of care, including palliative and hospice services
· Participate in continuous quality improvement and uphold departmental and hospital standards
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
· Active California RN license
· Minimum 1 year of high-acuity inpatient nursing experience
· Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy Provider Card (or willingness to obtain)
· BLS & ACLS (AHA)
· EKG competency
· BSN (or active enrollment per Hoag policy)
Preferred:
· Oncology nursing experience
