Position Overview

The manager in this position oversees certain services within the portfolio of in-house and external rehabilitation health professionals, as well as community mental health and substance abuse services.

The primary service location is in Hawkesbury, but the position covers satellite sites in Casselman and Rockland.

The manager supervises staff, daily operations, and the effective and efficient deployment of resources.

The manager is responsible for implementing and evaluating unit-specific operational objectives, projects, and indicators, as well as ensuring that program objectives align with corporate objectives.

In addition to healthcare professionals, the manager will supervise nursing staff.

The clinical manager reports to the portfolio director.

The job responsibilities include:
• Prioritizing, developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical services and programs in collaboration with the director, the chief medical officer, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the services and handle problematic situations (first line of response).
• Ensure service performance, quality improvement, incident management, and risk reduction within the framework of a just culture.
• Promote client-centered services and client safety.
• Promote clinical efficiency and the application of validated approaches.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment and effective teamwork.
• Manage staff, complete employee performance evaluations, participate in hiring, and implement disciplinary measures.
• Work closely with various partners.

What we are looking for
• University degree in a health care profession or health care administration.
• Member in good standing of a professional college in Ontario.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in health administration, staff management and supervision, or a related field.
• Knowledge of hospital and community services in the region.
• Experience in change management and operations management.
• Leadership skills: ability to build trust, inclusivity, change management, coaching, innovation, ability to communicate a shared vision, etc.
• Possess personnel management skills: strong communication skills, conflict management, adaptability, self-management, etc.
• Possess decision-making skills: critical thinking and cognitive flexibility, maturity and emotional intelligence, problem-solving, managerial courage, etc.
• Demonstrate the ability to cope with organizational changes under stress.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Practical knowledge of both official languages.
• Proficiency in using various computer programs.
• Possess a valid driver's license and be willing to work from different locations, share an "on-call" schedule, and demonstrate flexibility to work outside the regular work framework (hours and location).
