POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Reporting to the Director of Complex Care and Geriatrics, the successful individual will be responsible for operational management of the Complex Care unit at the Welland Hospital Site and bed filling coordination for the Complex Care Program. In this role, you will be accountable for the patient experience, day to day operations, patient flow, people management, fiscal stewardship, risk management and safety, and the provision of high-quality care. Working in a dyad model with physician leadership, the Manager will drive effective operations and foster community and academic partnerships aimed at improving transitions of care for the patients and communities we serve. The Clinical Manager will have a strong presence and accountability for operations to meet program objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

o Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario or registration with a Health Profession Regulatory College
o Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related university degree; Master's degree preferred
o Education and experience in Complex Care nursing
o Two to five years of managerial/leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of educational training and experience
o Working knowledge of the Public Hospitals Act, regulated legislation, labour agreements, hospital policies and procedures
o Demonstrated experience in budget development, fiscal planning, and financial management, with a proven ability to monitor and control expenditures in line with organizational goals and priorities.
o Strong understanding of financial reporting, cost analysis, and variance analysis, with the ability to make data-driven decisions to ensure budget adherence and optimize resource allocation.
o Knowledge and application of evidence-based practice
o Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
o Demonstrated ability to manage a large and diversified workload with often rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines
o Demonstrated project management skills
o Evidence of effective customer service, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills
o Demonstrated excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
o Flexible, self-directed and able to multi-task
o Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in healthcare or business
o Ability to work in a matrix model, i.e. program and site
o Ability to effectively interface with and utilize health information systems
o Consistent and regular attendance required
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
