Major/Essential Functions- Participates in clinical and pre-clinical instruction for dental students
- Delivers an integrated curriculum, which blends basic science and clinical concepts
- Employs multiple teaching methods, including case-based instruction, demonstration, simulation, team-based learning, and distance education
- Provides formative and summative assessment of dental student performance
- Provides individual support, feedback, and advice to dental students
- Engages in clinical practice of orthodontics
- Adheres to institutional policies and procedures
- Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Woody L. Hunt .School of Dental Medicine Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications- Board certified in orthodontics by the American Board of Orthodontics
- Experience in the use of medical/dental imaging, laboratory findings, restorations, and clinical case-based scenarios in the teaching of orthodontics
- Experience in development and delivery of an integrated dental curriculum
- Experience with innovative teaching methods, such as interactive large and small group formats, laboratory-based instruction, team-based learning, case-based learning, problem-based learning, and distance education
- Experience with curriculum and clinical management software systems
- Participation in national organizations or committees devoted to dental education
- Experience in dental education scholarship
- Experience in the development of grant proposals and the management of extramural funding
- A minimum of one-year experience in teaching orthodontics for the rank of clinical assistant professor or higher
- Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of clinical associate professor or higher

Required Qualifications- D.M.D./D.D.S. from a CODA-accredited dental school, or equivalent degree from a non-CODA accredited dental school
- Successful completion of CODA-accredited training program in orthodontics
- Texas Dental Licensure, or eligibility for an unrestricted Texas Dental License
