  • POSITION STANDARDS
      • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health related sciences, Healthcare Management, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
      • RN - registered nurse license.
      • 3-5 years of clinical direct patient care experience.
      • Experience with healthcare information systems, including hands-on use, system implementation or involvement in system & process optimization projects.
      • Informatics certification preferred
      • Epic experience preferred.

  • PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
    • Position Objective
      • Represents Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in the development, implementation, utilization and education of the Dartmouth Health clinical information systems. Works directly with providers, clinic and hospital staff, departmental directors and managers, project teams and administration as well as Dartmouth Health Informatics and eDH teams to enhance quality patient care through the efficient use of the clinical information systems. Is the primary liaison between local clinical end users and the Dartmouth Health IS teams with regards to use of clinical information systems. Serves as a workflow expert in the use of information technology in healthcare settings.
    • Performance Expectation
        • Learn and maintain technical expertise and working knowledge of the current clinical applications, their functions and varied uses in different departments at your local organization as well as throughout Dartmouth Health.
        • Reviews clinical department workflows to make appropriate recommendation for information system standards and utilization.
        • Work with clinic and hospital directors, managers, providers and other application users in the planning, evaluating, development, implementation and ongoing support of all aspects of the EHR and other applications used in clinical care.
        • Utilize knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine clinical functions that are suitable for computer application and to ensure that the solutions are consistent with professional standards and regulatory needs.
        • Work with clinical care teams to identify opportunities and evaluate requests regarding system improvements.
        • Evaluate issues raised by end users and determine feasibility of solutions. Help eDH teams prioritize requests for changes. Assist with education and training required with system changes.
        • Support multi-system application integration and work closely with system analysts in testing and implementing upgrades and system updates.
        • Assist in quality assurance efforts for clinical applications. Confer with clinical users to define data needs and produce/validate reports as requested.
        • Assist in or conduct data analysis for process improvement, quality improvement and as needed for other local projects.
        • Participate in the evaluation and development of training and in-service programs as they pertain to clinical application use.
        • Provide end user support and augment training as necessary. This will include new provider onboarding as well as supplementing other end user onboarding/orientation per general departmental use of clinical applications.
        • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends and advances in the different applications utilized in the Dartmouth Health system as well as new developments in the field of clinical informatics. This may include maintaining Epic certification/proficiency in relevant areas.
        • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
