Qualifications

• BSN preferred; RN licensure required in primary state with the ability to obtain licensure in additional states.
• C.H.P.N. certification preferred for specialized hospice knowledge.
• Minimum of 2 years of hospice experience required, ensuring familiarity with patient needs.
• Over 5 years of general nursing experience preferred, especially in pain and symptom management.
• Proven ability to teach, train, and mentor clinical staff with varying experience levels.
• Strong observation, assessment, nursing judgment, and communication skills critical for effective education.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for extensive travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement standardized education programs across multiple states.
• Mentor clinical staff, guiding their professional development from novice to expert levels.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, self-care, and medications.
• Create teaching materials that facilitate enhanced learning for both staff and patients.
• Evaluate educational programs to ensure ongoing professional development and improved outcomes.
• Collaborate with leadership to assess educational needs and address clinical practice gaps.
• Act as a clinical resource and role model across agencies, ensuring compliance with regulations.
