POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Director (RN) is responsible for the overall direction and supervision of the Clinical Manager(s). The Clinical Director (RN) establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for the Clinical Managers which meet and promote the standards of quality and contribute to the total organization and philosophy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Coordinates and oversees assigned Clinical Managers and their direct and indirect patient services provided by the agency.
- Provides guidance and counseling to clinical managers to assist them in continually improving all aspects of home health care services, provided through agency personnel.
- Assists clinical managers in managing clinical teams and planning.
- Monitors documentation of all Clinical and Case Managers to ensure timely submission and accuracy.
- Provides help in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family/caregiver care to all clinical personnel as indicated.
- Interprets operational indicators to detect census increases or decreases in volume which could impact staffing levels, revenues, or expenses.
- Evaluates performance of clinical managers and clinical staff.
- Assists clinical managers to develop skills and techniques in evaluating the performance of clinicians.
- Participates in the recruitment and hiring process.
- Coordinates the process of annual evaluations on clinicians, and more frequently if indicated.
- Acts as liaison in collaborating and coordinating the delivery of patient care and services.
- Assists in the development of all new clinical employee on their team.
- Contributes to the planning and implementation of in services and continuing education programs to meet education and training needs of the agency.
- Assists with the evaluation of organization performance via performance improvement program, productivity, quarterly, and annual reviews.
- Assures for the quality and safe delivery of home health services provided through the organization.
- Assists in the formulating, revising, implementing, and evaluating of policies and procedures, as well as strategic goals and objectives.
- Assures compliance with local, stage, and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of agency personnel and maintains compliance with accreditation home care standards where applicable.
- Stays informed about changes in the field of nursing and home health care and shares information with appropriate agency personnel.
- Actively promotes home health referrals in the health care community.
- Demonstrates and supports the organization's culture, mission, and values.
- Consults with the Senior Director of Clinical Services as necessary on matters related to patient care services.
- Actively participates in monthly clinical meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree required
- Licensed RN
- Licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order
- 3+ years of management experience in a home health or related organization
Preferred Education and Experience:- Graduate of NLN accredited school of Nursing
- Master's degree preferred
- 5+ years of clinically related experience in healthcare setting
Continuing Education Requirements:- Agency personnel are expected to participate in appropriate continuing education as may be requested and/or required by their immediate supervisor. In addition, agency personnel are expected to accept personal responsibility for other educational activities to enhance job related skills and abilities. All agency personnel must attend mandatory education programs.
