The Clinical Coordinator, under the direction of the Manager Diagnostic Imaging Services, supervises, directs, and demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning for patient care. This role is responsible and accountable for the planning and direction of all direct patient care, ensuring it aligns with clinical and administrative policies. The Clinical Coordinator oversees departmental staff, charging and inventory processes, quality and safety initiatives, and coordinates patient care and flow within the Radiology department.

Major Responsibility:

- Supervises Interventional Radiology departmental staff.
- Oversees charging and inventory processes.
- Ensures quality and safety initiatives.
- Coordinates patient care and patient flow.
- Provides leadership to ensure compliance with Joint Commission and safety standards.
- Supports growth and development of new services in Radiology.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills and leadership in planning, directing, and providing patient care according to hospital/department policies.
- Completes Kronos payroll daily by 10:00 am.
- Completes vacation requests and records in the appropriate system.
- Assists the Director of Imaging Services with staff recruitment, selection, and recognition.
- Fosters staff development, teamwork, and effective communication.
- Assesses competencies and coordinates appropriate training and education.
- Ensures staff competency, ethical performance, and adherence to the department's/facility's Mission Statement, as well as state, federal, and Joint Commission Guidelines.
- Reports all disciplinary issues to the Director of Service for follow-up.
- Responsible for daily role assignment and organization.
- Works closely with physicians, scheduling staff, and referring providers to schedule and provide care appropriately and in a timely manner for patients.
- Responsible for the overall direction of staff in the department.
- Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner.
- Monitors patient's condition and communicates with the appropriate caregivers as needed.
- Monitors Radiology activities to identify and resolve problems related to patient/family care.
- Reviews monthly statistics with the Director of Imaging for improvement opportunities.
- Assists the Director with all staffing functions (call, scheduling, interviewing, hiring, evaluations, and action plans).
- Focuses on personal/professional development by attending leadership classes, professional organization membership, and/or advanced certification.
- Participates in Service Line Quality Committee meetings.
- Collaborates with Radiologists to develop and maintain policies and update imaging protocols.
- Responsible for accurate and cost-effective inventory/supply management.
- Assists in the oversight of vendor activities and their appropriate access and inventory utilization.
- Maintains a working knowledge of inventory and charging for the department.
- Demonstrates the ability to competently operate all necessary computer systems (i.e.: EMR, RIS, PACS) to ensure proper procedural documentation and charges.
- Ensures proper system maintenance, operation, and care.
- Undertakes the role of liaison to associate departments to educate, communicate, and promote safety standards, enhance patient flow, and minimize potential risks.
- Assists with the development, optimization, and implementation of protocols to enhance image quality.
- Assists the Director with the organization of all departmental data collection processes.
- Assists the Director with the organization of department Quality initiatives.
- Assists the Director with the development of Process Improvement for the department.
- Assists the Facility System Administrator, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and maintenance assistance with the PACS System.
- Maintains competency and proficiency with Radiology equipment.
- Operates equipment safely and according to policy.
- Ensures departmental compliance with radiation safety guidelines for patient and self per policy.
- Utilizes all personal protective equipment.
- Maintains film badges and QC for personal protective apparel, as required.
- Reviews each exam for technical accuracy (i.e. technical quality, correct anatomical positioning, annotation) and completes verification process in PACS.
- All other duties as needed.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start
  
  • State of New Hampshire Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy License Required
  
  
  • ARRT Radiography License Required
  
  
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing
• 3 years experience in IR preferred
