Job DescriptionThe Clinical Category Manager works under the supervision of the Director of Supply Chain Operations in the Supply Chain department and maintains a business advocate role supporting Mosaic Life Care. The Category Manager demonstrates the ability to negotiate complex business and legal contractual terms, exhibits competence with data and financial analytics, audit agreements, review initiatives for future purchasing challenges, and develops relationships both internally and externally. In this position, the Clinical subject matter expert leads system-wide strategic sourcing initiatives to properly maximize GPO compliance, standardize, and show high performance of products with cost effectiveness while managing clinical supplies and assets keeping quality and safety at the forefront. Additionally, the Clinical Category Manager will collaborate with leadership to build strategic savings goals and will be responsible for achieving said targets for respective fiscal year. Basic responsibilities include capital planning, sourcing, price negotiation, establish and manage supply and service contracts, critical thinking, high adaptability to change, and collaboration.
Responsibilities- The enterprise expert for system-wide clinical application products and assets.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for business requirements while managing the corporate portfolio of suppliers for category support.
- Analyzes supply price and utilization history and prepares recommendations for opportunities to stakeholders with the focus of achieving lower supply cost while improving quality and safety.
- Serves as RFX facilitator, sourcing expert, contract specialist, auditor, and consultant for clinical categories leading all negotiations.
- Maintain expert knowledge of product supplies, prices, sources, alternatives and market conditions.
- Facilitate product evaluations and product demos in conjunction with the end users and suppliers including leading the system-wide strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Build constructive and trusting relationships with stakeholders and leadership to provide foundational support.
- Develop pricing, spend, total cost of ownership, control charting and other key analysis.
- Develop and lead supplier negotiations for equipment and supplies on behalf of the entire system.
- Anticipate and initiate the contract renewal process while assuming responsibility for oversight of contract terms, pricing accuracy, fill rates, overall quality control and reporting.
- Lead all internal conversations from a position of support and empathy.
- Must be an independent problem solver in a dynamic and fluid work environment with the ability to pivot and embrace change.

Education- H.S. Diploma - Required
- Bachelor's Degree - Business, Supply Chain Management, Nursing, RN, or Equivalent - Required
- Master's Degree - Business, Nursing, or Equivalent - Preferred
- Grandfathering Provision - Individuals currently employed in this position on the effective date of this job description (September 2026) will not be required to meet revised minimum qualifications, provided they remain in good standing and continue to successfully perform the essential functions of the role. Future candidates (after September 2026) must meet the required qualifications listed in this job description.
Work Experience- 3 Years - Knowledge of supply chain concepts and relate best practices - Required
- 5 Years - Strong experience in supply chain and contract negotiations within a multi-facility health system network - Preferred
License and CertificationsTravel Requirements- Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations - Required
