CLINICAL ASSOCIATE, HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY

The Department of Pediatrics at CHEO, University of Ottawa is recruiting two full-time Clinical Associates within the Division of Hematology/Oncology to fill a renewable 1-year term beginning as soon as the position is filled.
The ideal candidate will be Royal College (Hematology/Oncology) certified or equivalent, who can provide inpatient and outpatient clinical services for infants and children with cancer and/or non-malignant hematologic disorders. The candidate will be expected to provide weekend daytime coverage as needed. While English is the language of the health record, functionality in French is an asset.
On a rotating basis, the Clinical Associate Physician will provide:
- Inpatient Hematology/Oncology service coverage
- Outpatient Hematology/Oncology service
- Procedure room coverage for lumbar punctures with intrathecal chemotherapy and bone marrow evaluations
- Weekend clinical coverage, depending on divisional needs

CHEO has an active and accredited Pediatric Hematology/Oncology residency training program. The division is also involved in education for pediatric residents and medical students. We are active members of many research networks nationally and internationally and are also involved in education research.
Candidates for this position must have an MD and be eligible for licensing in the Province of Ontario. All qualified candidates are invited to apply; however, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents. Priority will be given to candidates with certification with the Royal College of Physicians of Surgeons (Pediatric Hematology/Oncology). Equivalent training in other countries/jurisdictions will be considered.
