Full Job Description
Schedule: Hybrid M-F, 8 am to 5 pm (may occasionally require after hours)

Summary

The Clinical Applications Specialist focuses on helping the organization select, implement, and continuously improve the use of Information Management solutions which deliver value to the organization. This includes evaluating software, mapping and optimizing clinical workflows, implementing software, all levels of unit, system, functional, and integration testing, as well as training. The Clinical Application Specialist supports Menninger's goals by working with other IT leaders and customers to define, select, configure, implement, test, and train customers to use Menninger's clinical solutions.

Key Functions
  1. Serve as the expert on clinical electronic systems use. Provide data and guidance of system use. Handle complex business process or protocol questions. Coordinates new clinical system end-user requirements, testing, training, rollout and support.
  2. Analyze and document existing processes in order to establish a baseline for the development of improvements and to identify root causes and key issues.
  3. Coordinate the goals of the network of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and/or Super Users as resources for clinical systems improvement, training, testing, change-management and information dissemination.
  4. Coordinate training material development and programs for clinical information systems users and Information Technology staff supporting clinical systems.
  5. Participate in developing policies related to clinical systems.
  6. Coordinate development of clinical user downtime procedures and troubleshooting end user tickets Document and coordinate performance of routine and as needed clinical system maintenance.

Education:

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), Certificate in Healthcare Related Informatics Preferred: ANCC Informatics Nurse Certification

License/Certification: Required: In lieu of Bachelor's current license as Registered Nurse (RN) in State of Texas; Certificate in Healthcare Related Informatics if no degree in clinical informatics

Preferred: Cerner Experience

Experience:

Required: Three (3) years as RN clinician

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred:

Ability to efficiently and effectively analyze manual protocols and processes as well as systems, data, processes and related information and must be able to understand and graphically depict complex functions in addition to documenting process flows.

Minimum of three (3) years business involvement in electronic Clinical/Healthcare Systems at Menninger.

Familiarity with a variety of the Process Improvement concepts, Best Practices, methodologies etc.
