Position SummaryThe Clinical Applications Specialist serves as a trusted product expert, leveraging advanced clinical and technical knowledge to support the successful commercialization of endoscopic technologies and specialized surgical instruments. By partnering with sales, marketing, and healthcare professionals, they drive product adoption, demonstrate clinical value, and help deliver innovative solutions that enhance patient care.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Functional Responsibilities - Serve as the clinical and procedural expert for EUS, EBUS, and ERCP products across the Canadian Sales organization.
- Support the identification, development, and closure of EUS/EBUS and ERCP business opportunities.
- Increase the region's pipeline of qualified opportunities and contribute to improved conversion rates.
- Assist in retaining key accounts and strengthening strategic customer relationships.
- Lead product demonstrations, evaluations, and clinical training programs at targeted healthcare facilities.
- Provide on-site procedural support and equipment guidance for physicians and clinical staff.
- Develop and nurture physician champions and key opinion leaders within the assigned territory.
- Serve as a continuing clinical resource for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Educate and mentor Territory Managers by sharing procedural expertise and product knowledge.
- Support educational programs, workshops, trade shows, and customer events.
- Respond proactively to customer needs and business opportunities while working closely with regional and national leadership.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Collaboration & Leadership - Partner with Sales, Marketing, Clinical Support, and Commercial leadership teams to achieve business objectives.
- Build strong relationships with physicians, nurses, clinical staff, distributors, and key stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor and clinical resource for customers and internal teams.
- Support regional and national training initiatives to strengthen product knowledge and clinical competency.
Performance & Excellence - Ensure all activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of disease states, anatomy, clinical procedures, and industry trends.
- Demonstrate clinical leadership during national and regional trade shows, conferences, and society meetings.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer experience and commercial success.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Healthcare, or a related field.
- ARDMS Certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of ultrasound support experience.
- Strong understanding of the medical device industry and clinical support environment.
- Advanced knowledge of anatomy, disease states, and endoscopic ultrasound procedures.
- Experience conducting clinical product demonstrations, installations, and customer training.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to educate physicians, nurses, and sales personnel effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid passport and willingness to travel extensively.
Preferred Qualifications - Advanced understanding of PENTAX equipment and competitive endoscopy technologies.
- Experience supporting EUS, EBUS, ERCP, or related gastrointestinal and pulmonary procedures.
- Previous experience in clinical education, field applications, or healthcare training roles.
- Experience working with key opinion leaders and physician advocacy programs.
