Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Manages patient care, personnel management, maintenance of equipment, equipment and supply purchase decisions. Performs quality and productivity audits. Provides staff eduction support to manager. Works closely with the manager to support all O.R. and procedural areas requiring anesthesia support. Partners with anesthesiology providers and anesthesia functions with goal to maintain targeted productivity, implement quality improvement / safety initiatives, and maintain supply/equipment budget. Evaluates personnel and ensure optimal daily staff utilization. Has demonstrated familiarity with anesthesia equipment and supplies and serves as a resource to the team in making equipment and supply decisions and/or troubleshooting.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises anesthesia technicians and responsible for, but not limited to: hires, training, work assignment, managing and evaluating performance, conducts development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of the anesthesia technician team meets and supports the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Participates in the daily staffing, call and scheduling plan for all anesthesia related areas and shifts. Responsible for adhering to the revenue and expense budget goals of the department. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Provide and oversee support to the anesthesia providers according to standard work and departmental expectations.
  • Create and ensures implementation of continuous process improvement and staff growth and development. Conducts staff meetings and team huddles.
  • Review staff hours worked vs scheduled hours and determine appropriate disposition if variation exists. Performs updates, reconciles and approves timecards.
  • Responsible for the labor productivity toward the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Evaluates equipment and supply needs of the department.
  • Serves as a resource in regards to anesthesia equipment and supplies. Develops and implements necessary competency and education for staff and assists the providers in troubleshooting equipment.
