We are seeking an experienced Client Accounting Services (CAS) Manager with deep expertise in post-close acquisition accounting for privately held companies. This role will lead client engagements involving purchase price accounting (PPA), net working capital (NWC) true-ups, post-acquisition accounting system design and software implementations, and post-close accounting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, exceptional project management capabilities, and a client-service mindset to help newly acquired businesses transition seamlessly into their post-transaction financial reporting environment.
Post-Close Acquisition Accounting- Lead end-to-end post-close accounting processes for privately held clients following mergers and acquisitions.
- Oversee and prepare accounting schedules, opening balance sheet adjustments, and documentation in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage net working capital (NWC) true-up calculations, analyses, and negotiations in collaboration with buyers, sellers, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on issues arising during integration, including revenue recognition, leases, inventory, and equity arrangements.
Systems & Software Implementation- Lead or support the implementation of accounting and ERP software for newly acquired entities, ensuring accurate data migration and alignment with client reporting needs.
- Design and document accounting workflows, control processes, and reporting structures to support scalable post-close operations.
- Partner with client leadership to identify system gaps and recommend technology solutions that enhance financial reporting efficiency.
Client Management & Advisory- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, delivering high-quality service and proactive communication throughout engagements.
- Translate complex accounting issues into clear, actionable recommendations for non-accounting stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with valuation professionals, auditors, tax advisors, and internal team members.
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and support new service offerings related to financial operations.
Team Leadership & Quality Control- Manage, coach, and develop staff and senior accountants supporting engagement work.
- Review and ensure accuracy of deliverables, analyses, and financial statements.
- Contribute to CAS practice development, including methodology enhancement, best-practice documentation, and training initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
- 5-8+ years of experience in accounting, with significant exposure to M&A, post-close integration, purchase price accounting, or transaction advisory.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606
- Experience leading accounting software implementations preferred (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Xero, Ramp, Bill.com).
- Proven experience, managing multiple client engagements and delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and client-relationship skills.
- Ability to lead teams, provide mentorship, and manage project timelines and budgets.
