Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Claims Adjuster on our Property CasualtyClaims team.

Our Claims team delivers accurate, timely, and professional claims handling in accordance with policy terms and conditions. The team works closely with brokers, clients, underwriters, and internal stakeholders to resolve coverage matters, manage reserves, pursue recoveries, and provide a consistently high standard of service.

In this role, you will manage a claims caseload, investigate and resolve claims efficiently, and maintain accurate documentation and system records. You will also provide claims information and insight to underwriting and management while supporting regulatory compliance, cost control, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.

What you'll be doing:

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims in accordance with policy terms, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze coverage issues, establish appropriate reserves, and manage disputed or material claims through resolution.
• Review claim estimates, billings, and related documentation to support accurate claim handling and financial outcomes.
• Identify and pursue subrogation, contribution, and other recovery opportunities when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate claim documentation and claims system records while providing timely claims information and responsive service to brokers, clients, underwriters, and other business stakeholders.

What you'll bring:

• Five to ten years of property casualty claims experience, experience with environmental or railroad claims is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the general insurance industry, claims trends, applicable regulatory requirements, and class-specific claims practices.
• Required adjuster licenses for New York and Florida; additional state licenses are expected, and a Texas license is preferred.
• Strong investigative, negotiation, influencing, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with sound commercial judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deadlines, collaborate effectively, and produce accurate management information and detailed reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to navigate and interpret complex technical data and claims systems.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $115,000. Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
