Description

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a talented professional to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA, as a Civil Project Manager, Transportation. This is a leadership role that involves strategic planning, team development, management, innovation, and collaboration to enhance our market presence and technical excellence. You will manage LA DOT projects, including transportation, sewer, and drainage design.

Requirements

  • Maintain ongoing client relationships, pursue new professional connections, and seek new project opportunities with new and current clients.
  • Be required to prepare technical sections of project proposals and participate in interview presentations.
  • Be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling project team activities, including but not limited to; reviewing and/or supervising technical aspects of work as well as defining the project scope, budget and schedule.
  • Have primary responsibility for quality control and be the primary client contact for each project.
  • Be responsible for setting goals, evaluating staff performance, and serving as a resource and mentor to less experienced staff members.
  • Be required to coordinate staff resources with other PM's and Principals throughout the company.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, approve client billing, and secure contract amendments for changes to scope and fees.
  • Be expected to meet or exceed group and individual performance goals.
  • Communicate project requirements to all team members.
  • Commit resources of the firm issuing start and stop orders relating to the project progress and clients directives within contract requirements.

  • General knowledge of construction with experience providing construction phase services
  • Track record of successfully winning and delivering projects
  • Experience in accounts receivable, invoicing, and overall duties involved in managing a design team
  • Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work and qualification packages
  • Experience developing and implementing marketing pursuit strategies
  • Ability to develop relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff.
  • Ability to coach and motivate others

Qualifications
  • BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET ABET-accredited curriculum or equivalent
  • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in the state of Louisiana (or capable of obtaining within 6 months)
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in roadway design consultant coordination and review, roadway drainage, and sewer systems.
  • This position requires travel to project sites and other Westwood offices as needed
