Role at a GlanceThe Civil Project Engineer is responsible for planning and conducting assignments with a high level of specialization and autonomy. What you will do- Plan and conduct complex engineering assignments with minimal supervision.
- Modify established guidelines and devise new approaches to meet project requirements.
- Apply existing criteria in new ways and draw conclusions from comparative situations.
- Develop and recommend improvements in design standards to lower costs or enhance work quality.
- Providing technical guidance on projects involving sewer systems, water management, earthworks, and road infrastructure.
- Investigate and solve unusual design and field engineering problems by devising new approaches or applying existing criteria in innovative ways.
- Initiate and develop guidelines and investigations for other team members.
- Coordinate difficult and responsible tasks, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external agencies.
- Discuss design problems, explain design features and specifications, and outline project control criteria.
- Establish and maintain client contacts to seek or provide technical information related to projects.
- Communicate effectively with clients to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Manage mid-sized to large projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and performance objectives.
- Prepare progress reports, recommend design changes, estimate costs, and recommend payments for completed work.
What you bring to the table - Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably within a consulting environment.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, design standards, and best practices.
- Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems using innovative approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
- Project management experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage mid-sized to large projects.
