As a Civil Litigation Paralegal, youll dive into complex legal challenges, working closely with our team to ensure each case is handled with precision and care. Your ability to manage litigation dockets independently and communicate effectively will be key to driving successful outcomes for clients.
Responsibilities
Independently manage a docket of employment litigation matters from filing through resolution
Develop and execute a case strategy
Take and defend depositions
Lead discovery planning and motion practice
Prepare for and attend mediations
Prepare cases for trial
Maintain consistent case momentum and forward progress
Collaborate with staff to ensure operational efficiency
Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients throughout representation
Qualifications
Licensed in West Virginia
5-10+ years of civil litigation experience
Plaintiff-side employment litigation experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated experience managing cases from start to finish
Significant deposition experience required
Experience with plaintiff-focused trial advocacy training (e.g., Keenan Trial Institute or similar) strongly preferred
Strong written and oral advocacy skills
Ability to exercise independent judgment in complex matters
