Job DescriptionOverview We are seeking a
Civil Land Development Engineer to join our team in
Melbourne, FL.Your role - Performs project design, provides direction to junior engineers, CAD designers or technicians.
- Plans and reviews the production of engineering drawings and specifications.
- Plans and reviews the production of engineering investigations or planning work.
- Develops and evaluates plans and criteria for new projects, weighing alternatives and selecting the most cost-effective solution.
- Analyzes technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutions.
- Analyzes project scopes and prepares or oversees the preparation of cost and manpower estimates, schedules and job budgets.
- Coordinates work with project manager and guides junior professionals and technical personnel on the design and drafting of preliminary and final plans.
- Is responsible for quality control, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, and checking computations or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others.
- May occasionally manage projects.
- Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
About you - B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering.
- Seven to ten years of experience.
- Florida and Brevard County experience not required but a plus.
- Federal project experience not required but a plus.
- Experience with roadways, sanitary sewers, water distribution systems, storm drain facilities, site grading, stormwater management, earthwork, erosion & sediment control, environmental compliance, ADA compliance, and/or pavement markings & signage.
- Florida P.E. license preferred, must be able to obtain FL licensure through FBPR/NCEES.
- Ability to lead and prepare civil engineering projects consisting of construction plans, specifications, and/or design calculations.
- Conduct periodic site visits, responses to RFI's, shop drawing review, and more.
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D knowledge and understanding required.
- ProjectWise, Bluebeam, SharePoint, and MS Project knowledge and understanding a plus.
- Ability and willingness to work on private, municipal, state and federal projects.
- Proven technical writing and communication skills.

Additional informationExpected compensation range is between $72,400-$120,600 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
