Civil Engineering Team Leader, Water/Wastewater, Little Rock, Arkansas

Halff has an immediate opening for a Civil Engineering Team Leader in Little Rock, AR. The ideal candidate will bring at least 15 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on Water/Wastewater in the consulting industry and/or working with, or for, public and private sector clients. The successful candidate should have experience, managing Water/Wastewater Utility projects or coordinating tasks of moderate size and complexity, make decisions independently and resolve complex problems. In addition to project delivery responsibilities, candidates must be able to perform business development, manage budgets, personnel, schedules, sub consultants, and client interaction. The candidate must also have the ability to support operations managers and practice leaders in business development and pursuit of Water/Wastewater Utility opportunities. Halff's Water/Wastewater Engineering practice are primed for growth and we are looking for someone to lead the way in growing this practice within our firm and in the Central Arkansas area. What you will do:
  • Providing strong leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to an existing exceptional Water/Wastewater Engineering Team.
  • Lead civil design and production staff in planning, design, and execution of water/wastewater projects of moderate to advanced size and complexity.
  • Make decisions independently and resolve complex problems.
  • Manage direct reports.
  • Be responsible for business development and manage budgets, personnel, schedules, sub consultants, and client interactions.
  • Support operations managers and practice leaders in business development and pursuit of Water/Watewater opportunities.
  • Team performance (production, profitability, quality, staffing, etc.).
  • Maintain and further develop client relationships throughout the Little Rock area and beyond.
  • Identify business opportunities and lead the successful pursuit of land development design projects.
  • Directly manage projects and oversee project managers on various projects.
  • Work closely with other Halff leaders and manage resources to successfully workshare across the company on multiple projects.

What you will need:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree
  • 15 years of experience to support Water/Wastewater Utility projects including pipeline and facility design, and planning
  • Water/Wastewater System planning and design
  • Licensed PE, preferably in Arkansas or can obtain immediately.
  • Water/Wastewater treatment experience, is a plus.
  • Responsible for business development, production, and staffing
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be self-directed yet a team player, and have focus on quality, integrity and success
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, project delivery, and team/resource management is required
