Civil Engineering Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to lead land development projects, mentor staff, and play a key role in the continued growth of our Fredericksburg office. Location: Fredericksburg, VA | Hybrid - 2-3 days in office
What You'll DoLead Complex Land Development ProjectsManage a variety of land development projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, and public sectors from initial proposal through construction support and project closeout. You'll oversee project scope, schedules, permitting coordination, and overall delivery while ensuring high-quality outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
Provide Technical LeadershipGuide the design and review of site development plans including grading, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion & sediment control using Civil 3D. Serve as a technical resource for the team while helping solve complex engineering and permitting challenges throughout Virginia jurisdictions.
Mentor and Develop StaffSupport and mentor junior engineers and project team members through project coordination, technical guidance, and day-to-day leadership. Help foster a collaborative, accountable, and growth-oriented team environment.
Build Strong Client RelationshipsServe as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients, agencies, and project stakeholders. Participate in client meetings, public hearings, and business development efforts while helping strengthen and grow long-term partnerships.
Drive Successful Project PerformanceManage project budgets, schedules, invoicing, and overall financial performance to help ensure projects remain on track and aligned with client expectations.
What You Bring- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- PE license preferred (or ability to obtain within 12-18 months)
- 7+ years of land development engineering experience
- Proven experience managing projects, clients, and technical teams
- Strong understanding of Virginia permitting processes, regulations, and local agency coordination
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, responsiveness, and attention to detail
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
