Job Title: Professional Civil Engineer - Water Resources Location: Las Cruces, NM

As a Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in our Las Cruces Water Resources Group, you will leverage your engineering expertise to develop and manage water and wastewater utility infrastructure projects from an initial vision to completion.

Your Role & Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead these tasks:
  • Working with clients to understand infrastructure needs, assist in capital improvements planning and develop funding strategies.
  • Complete asset management plans, preliminary engineering reports, and master plans to characterize the practical engineering approach and best available technologies to apply for successful client solutions.
  • Lead or participate in a project design team to develop construction drawings and technical specifications for various types of utility infrastructure projects.
  • Manage construction administration services, including in-house construction observers, from the initial bidding phase through final commissioning.
  • Coordinate asset on-boarding and GIS systems updates for individual client CMMS integration.

What We Are Looking For
  • You have graduated with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • You have earned your PE license in New Mexico.
  • You have four (4) or more years of proven experience in water/wastewater engineering, to include one (1) year of project management. Preference given to prior experience in consulting engineering and experience with managing multi-disciplinary projects.
  • You have experience with the development of water and wastewater type projects including items such as the following: wastewater collection systems, lift stations, water reclamation facilities, reclaimed water distribution; as well as drinking water production wells, drinking water treatment, water distribution/transmission pipeline networks, and storage.
  • You have demonstrated organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and have the ability to solve problems.
  • You can work independently and as an effective member of a team.
  • You can manage multiple projects and mentor/train staff.
