Civil Engineering professional with 4+ years of accomplishment in designing Civil projects. This individual assists Valdes A&E Senior Civil engineers working with other Valdes A&E discipline engineers and client engineering representatives.
Responsibilities- Display a general knowledge of the Civil Engineering discipline
- Provide generally accepted practices with project layout and design with minimal guidance from Senior Civil engineers
- Engage in design production, as directed by Senior Engineers, and help produce complete, quality, and timely deliverables
- Verify field conditions and assist the Senior Engineers in resolving problems during field construction
- May be required to participate in short-- or long-term field assignments
Technical Competencies- Site development project experience (stormwater, grading, utilities, roads, etc.)
- Experienced with Civil 3D or MicroStation CADD software
- Experience with hydrology and hydraulic software is a plus
- Familiarity with the IDOT standards and specifications. Familiarity with the general layout of a set of IDOT road plans is preferred
- General familiarity with the Illinois Urban Manual and erosion and sediment control practices. Familiarity with the NPDES permit process, including generating a SWPPP, is preferred
- General understanding of the permitting process, including Federal, State, and Local
- General knowledge of and use of municipal ordinances is a plus
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil Engineering
- 4+ years of experience working as a Civil Engineer
- Must hold Professional registrations (PE) or be able to obtain registration within one year of hire
- General knowledge of Civil Engineering
- Strong Microsoft Office software skills
- Strong AutoCAD / Civil 3D or MicroStation CADD experience
- Must possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
- Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
$70,000 - $120,000 a year
