Full Job Description
Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) is recruiting to fill a Civil Engineer Transportation Advanced position within the Southwest Region. This position can be headquartered in any of our DTSD office locations. This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the DTSD office at least 2 days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are generally expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview. Position Summary This position performs highly responsible engineering administrative work involving the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and specifications for the statewide construction program. A major goal of this position is clear and consistent interpretation and application of the Standard Specifications for Highway and Structure Construction, the Supplemental Specifications, Special Provisions and all other documents making up WisDOT's construction contracts. The position assists the Regions in the administration and evaluation of their transportation construction program, primarily the Southwest Mega/Majors Program, traditional and Design-Build projects, and on-system projects in the Southeast and Southwest Regions, including the analysis and resolution of claims and the provision of specialized expertise in construction techniques and problem solving. Salary Information This position is in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $92,768 - $114,483, plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan. A $3,000 sign-on bonus applies to those who do not have any prior permanent full-time state service in the last five years and agree to remain in the position for one year. The $3,000 will be paid on the first paycheck. Job Details This state agency does not sponsor work visas.
