POSITON SUMMARY: This position will include a variety of tasks including but not limited to contract management of maintenance and repair contracts, research assignments, budget analysis, processing payments of invoices, project planning, work schedule review/coordination and monitoring of vendor performance. This work will also include on-site inspections of facilities to ensure contractor compliance with project/contract specifications/procedures. Contracts may include paving & related construction, plumbing/boiler repairs, fence installations, fuel tank system upgrades/repairs, fire suppression sprinkler systems, electromechanical systems/equipment for buildings/facilities, along with a variety of other contracts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- Four years of full-time experience in civil engineering
- A master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college will be accepted as equivalent to one year of full-time experience in civil engineering.
License Requirements: A valid New York State Professional Engineer's License
Special Note:In addition to the qualification requirements listed above, candidates must have, within the last three years, at least one year of experience serving as a major contributor or project leader on a complex project requiring additional and specific expertise in the disciplines necessary to design or construct the project. This requirement applies to placement in Assignment Levels II and III.
DESIRED SKILLS: - Contract/facilities management
- Paving and related construction, mechanical/electrical systems/equipment for buildings and facilities
- Firm understanding of project coordination to minimize impact on both public and transit operations
- Ability to coordinate between various NYCT divisions along with New York City and State Agencies
- Familiarity with NYC Transit operations, procurement practices/procedures, purchasing options and knowledge of budget process along with construction techniques and methodologies
- Excellent oral, written and organization skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential
