Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience (MoDOT and/or KDOT/KTA experience preferred)
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) License or ability to obtain within 12 months
• Proficiency in industry-standard design software: Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and roadway design standards
• Ability to analyze complex engineering problems and develop effective solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Collaborative and adaptable work approach with strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design team for detailed roadway designs meeting regulations
• Lead analysts in developing project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates
• Select materials and prepare specifications for road construction projects
• Create alignment and geometric designs for transportation facilities
• Obtain approvals and permits ensuring compliance with regulations
• Provide technical support during construction and oversee project progress
• Conduct inspections and quality checks to maintain design standards
• Integrate environmental considerations into roadway designs
