What We're Looking For:

Michael Baker International is seeking Highway Engineers to support roadway and transportation projects throughout New Jersey and the Philadelphia area. In this role, you'll contribute to and lead roadway design efforts, including geometry, roadway modeling, ADA compliance, utilities, traffic control, roadside safety, site development, and contract document preparation.

Candidates with experience working with PennDOT, City of Philadelphia, NJDOT, NJTA, SJTA, NJTPA or PANYNJ, are highly valued.

You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and office leaders on traditional, design-build, and municipal projects while helping deliver innovative transportation solutions.

What You'll Do:
  • Support the design process by preparing construction documents, plans, maps, and technical reports.

  • Gather and review background information for project sites, including as-built plans and existing utility services.
  • Contribute to quantity take-offs and preparation of project cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with design technicians to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.

  • Assist in organizing materials for client and project meetings.
  • Participate in internal project meetings and provide input as needed.
  • Conduct occasional site visits and report findings to Project Managers.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Engage in training sessions to enhance proficiency in design software and technical elements.

What You Need to Succeed:

Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position is $98,000-$150,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
