Role description:

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in civil engineering and a proven track record of handling complex projects from start to finish. Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate intricate site development challenges are essential for success in this role.

Role accountabilities:

As a civil engineer, you will conduct comprehensive site investigations to assess soil and rock conditions, followed by performing detailed geotechnical analysis and calculations. You are experienced in designing foundations, retaining structures, and slope stabilization systems, and will collaborate closely with project teams to ensure the integration of geotechnical considerations. During construction, you will monitor activities to verify adherence to geotechnical specifications and prepares clear, concise reports and recommendations for stakeholders. Additionally, you will track budgets and project financials for accuracy and manage client invoicing appropriately. You will maintain positive business relationships with clients, government officials, contractors, and other stakeholders, and participate in professional meetings and business development functions as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering
  • Hold Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification and actively working towards Professional Engineer (PE) Certification
  • 4 or more years' relevant experience in engineering
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant national standards and codes of practice
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Advanced research, data gathering and analysis skills
  • Field experience with geotechnical sampling and construction, including soil and rock sampling via drilling oversight, Cone Penetrometer Testing, Standard Penetration testing with Split spoons, construction oversight including pile installation, retaining wall construction, waterway dredging, bank stability, and restoration oversight
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on a task with little or no direct oversight
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills

Preferred:
  • May hold or be working towards advanced degree (M.Eng., MS, MBA, etc.)
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred
  • Proficiency in CADD and Civil 3D preferred,
  • Proficiency in GeoStudio, OpenGround, LPile, ShoringSuite, Prosheet preferred,
  • Technical design skills preferred in the following categories including sheet pile design, preferred experience in variety of retaining wall structures, slope stability calculations, foundation design including shallow and deep varieties, excavation stability options, and in-situ stabilization and solidification.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $75,240 - $112,860. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
