CIO Principal Advisor
This is a contingent position based upon contract award
KBR is seeking a highly qualified candidate to act as the Principal Advisor to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) within our government customer in the Northern Virginia area. The CIO Principal Advisor assists in supporting executive decision-making, synchronizing priorities across multiple stakeholders, and ensures timely delivery of customer initiatives. As a senior trusted advisor the individual supports senior leadership on strategy, priorities, governance, risk, and operational issues affecting Enterprise IT and mission delivery.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Translate vision and guidance into executable plans, roadmaps, and milestones
- Define success measures and track progress against strategic objectives.
- Coordinate support with stakeholders (e.g., mission owners, business functions, security, acquisition, partner organizations) to align requirements, resolve issues, and drive outcomes.
- Preparing and staffing executive-level decision packages, briefs, and recommendations
- Managing action items and decisions through closure.
- Portfolio/Program performance support via monitoring initiative performance (cost, schedule, and scope), identifying risks and associated mitigations, and supporting corrective actions.
- Support planning and prioritization of resources and investments; advise on acquisition approaches, vendor engagement, and opportunities for efficiency.
- Ensure timely, accurate communication of customer priorities, decisions, and expectations.
- Coordinate inputs for reports, audits, and senior-level updates as required.
Required Qualifications:
- CURRENT and ACTIVE TOP SECRET / SCI security clearance
- Serving as a senior advisor to executive leadership on enterprise IT strategy, governance, and modernization initiatives.
- Translation of mission priorities into actionable IT roadmaps, investment plans, and measurable outcomes.
- Support to the IC, DoD, and/or Federal IT governance, policy, and compliance processes (e.g., capital planning, risk management, ATO/reciprocity concepts).
- Required Education \ Relevant Experience:
- Master's Degree or higher in Business or Master’s Degree in Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) and 6 years of experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or STEM and 8 years of experience
- High school or High School Equivalency Diploma and 12 years of experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience leading cross-functional stakeholder engagement, briefing senior executives, and aligning disparate organizations to shared outcomes.
- Experience developing strategic papers, options analyses, executive briefings
- Experience with action tracking at an executive level.
- Experience overseeing or guiding portfolio/program performance, resource planning, and acquisition/procurement strategy
Basic Compensation:
$159,100 - $194,400 (This range is for Washington DC Metro Area Only).
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
