Full Job Description
Anderson Hills Pediatrics is seeking an experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our integrated pediatric practice and help expand access to high-quality behavioral health care for children and adolescents, with continued care for established young adult patients as appropriate where applicable.

This is an opportunity for a physician who enjoys working closely with pediatricians, families, therapists, schools, and other members of a multidisciplinary care team.

Our ideal candidate brings meaningful clinical psychiatry experience, with substantial experience evaluating and treating children and adolescents. Five or more years of clinical experience is preferred. The psychiatrist should be comfortable with comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, evidence-based psychopharmacology, controlled-substance prescribing, risk assessment, and longitudinal treatment management.

We particularly value a psychiatrist who is confident managing patients with complex psychiatric needs, including antipsychotic medication management, diagnostic clarification, safety planning, and coordination of higher levels of care when clinically indicated.

We are open to full-time and part-time arrangements and are willing to consider flexible clinical models based on the psychiatrist's availability, interests, and the needs of the practice.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for children and adolescents, with continued care for established young adult patients as appropriate where applicable
  • Diagnose and treat psychiatric, behavioral, developmental, and emotional conditions
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that may include medication, psychotherapy recommendations, behavioral interventions, and coordination with outside services
  • Provide longitudinal psychiatric treatment and medication management
  • Prescribe, initiate, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, mood stabilizers, and antipsychotic medications when clinically appropriate
  • Evaluate and treat ADHD, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, mood disorders, behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and other pediatric psychiatric conditions
  • Assess suicide risk, self-harm risk, aggression, psychosis, substance use, and other urgent behavioral health concerns; develop safety plans and facilitate emergency or higher-level care when needed
  • Monitor treatment response, adverse effects, laboratory results, screening instruments, and other relevant clinical information
  • Provide psychoeducation, medication education, supportive interventions, and family guidance as clinically appropriate
  • Partner with parents and caregivers in developing and monitoring treatment plans
  • Collaborate closely with pediatricians, therapists, nursing staff, schools, specialists, community providers, and other members of the care team
  • Coordinate care for patients with complex medical and behavioral health needs
  • Provide psychiatric consultation to pediatric clinicians and contribute to integrated behavioral health workflows
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case consultation, quality improvement, and clinical program development
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation in the electronic health record
  • Practice in accordance with applicable federal and Ohio laws, medical standards, and organizational policies

The Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in psychiatrists who bring:

  • Board certification or board eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Meaningful experience treating children and adolescents
  • Strong experience with pediatric psychopharmacology and complex medication management
  • Demonstrated comfort prescribing and managing controlled substances, mood stabilizers, and antipsychotic medications
  • Strong clinical assessment, differential-diagnosis, and risk-assessment skills
  • Experience managing ADHD and other common pediatric psychiatric conditions as well as clinically complex presentations
  • The ability to recognize when a patient requires emergency intervention, subspecialty consultation, or a higher level of behavioral health care
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with children, adolescents, parents, and caregivers
  • A collaborative approach to working alongside pediatricians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
  • The ability to practice independently while collaborating effectively with the broader care team
  • Commitment to evidence-based, family-centered care

Particularly Welcome

We especially welcome psychiatrists whose additional training or clinical interests could strengthen and expand our integrated behavioral health services, including:

  • Fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Experience in integrated or collaborative care within pediatric primary care
  • Experience with autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, eating disorders, substance use, or other specialized pediatric populations
  • Interest in program development, clinical consultation, or education for pediatric clinicians
