Full Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY:
TechInsights is at an inflection point - evolving from the world's leading semiconductor intelligence platform into a fully AI-enabled intelligence company. At the center of that transformation is the Chief Technology Officer.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team reporting directly to the CEO, the CTO holds full accountability for TechInsights' technology strategy and the engineering organization spanning AI Engineering, AI Policy & Governance, Reverse Engineering R&D, and IT Support. This is a role for a leader who can operate at the intersection of bold vision and disciplined execution - translating corporate strategy into engineering capability, aligning technology investment with business outcomes, and representing TechInsights' capabilities to customers, partners, and the board of directors.

TechInsights' competitive advantage is built on a proprietary foundation of semiconductor intelligence, reverse engineering data, structured market analysis, and advanced analytics. The CTO is the steward of that foundation - extending it through engineering excellence, robust platform development, and purposeful AI-driven innovation. This means bringing deep expertise in agentic AI systems, cloud-native platforms, and applied machine learning to bear on real, high-stakes problems in one of the most technically demanding industries in the world.
The ideal candidate sets enterprise-wide engineering standards, builds and sustains a high-performance technology culture, and partners closely with leaders across Product, Sales, Operations, and Security & AI Governance to prioritize technology investments that drive TechInsights' strategic objectives. If you are energized by the challenge of scaling world-class engineering at the frontier of AI and semiconductor intelligence, this role was built for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Technology Strategy and Executive Leadership
  • Define and own the enterprise technology strategy, aligned with TechInsights' corporate strategy, product vision, and revenue objectives
  • Serve as a full member of the Executive Leadership Team, bringing a technology perspective to enterprise-wide decisions and representing TechInsights' capabilities to customers, partners, investors, and the board
  • Lead technology investment planning across AI, machine learning, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms, balancing strategic ambition with the company's target net margin
  • Model TechInsights' five priorities, Speed, Custody, Repeatability, Productivity, and Wellness, in leadership practice and decision-making
Platform, Engineering, and Innovation
  • Oversee AI Engineering, Reverse Engineering R&D, and IT Support, setting enterprise-wide standards for quality, consistency, and technical excellence
  • Lead the applied AI and R&D agenda, determining how machine learning, generative AI, and advanced analytics are developed and deployed in production, including large language models, vector databases, semantic search, and domain-specific AI models
  • Drive build-buy-partner decisions for advanced engineering capabilities and provide technical due diligence support for M&A and strategic partnerships
  • Collaborate with Product and Commercial leadership to align engineering capacity and delivery cadence with product strategy and go-to-market timelines
  • Partner with Security & AI Governance to ensure engineering operations meet the company's cybersecurity, data governance, and AI threat management requirements
Organizational Leadership and Operational Excellence
  • Lead the technology organization with full accountability for organizational design, team performance, and culture
  • Build a high-performance engineering culture that attracts, develops, and retains top talent, with clear career frameworks and a strong leadership pipeline
  • Oversee the engineering budget, define annual forecasts, and present investment recommendations to the CEO and board; define and monitor KPIs including delivery velocity, platform reliability, and AI adoption
  • Lead AI Policy & Governance as a cross-cutting function, establishing the rules governing autonomous AI agent activity across TechInsights

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Experience and Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, with at least five years in a senior executive role (SVP Engineering, CTO, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated success scaling engineering organizations and technology platforms in a data-intensive, B2B, or SaaS environment
  • Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, data architecture, platform engineering, and modern software development practices
  • Experience building and leading high-performing, geographically distributed engineering teams
  • Experience with AI/ML platforms, large-scale data products, or content intelligence systems
  • Experience supporting technology through M&A activity, including technical due diligence and integration
  • Background in or familiarity with the semiconductor, EDA, materials science, or technology intelligence industry is a strong asset
  • Exposure to export control frameworks, IP protection, or compliance requirements in a technology or research environment
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Leadership Competencies
  • Able to balance long-term strategic vision with near-term execution and operational discipline
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborative, with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional peers in a matrixed environment
  • Data-driven approach to technology investment and decision-making
  • Committed to talent development, psychological safety, and organizational health
