Chief Service Engineer
Mississauga, ON

Summary:

Senior technical engineering role for the regional operating unit within a global group of companies. Accountable for engineering quality, reliability, and successful technical, project, and product solutions, coordinated across regional operating units and corporate engineering. Mission is total customer satisfaction for engineered products installed in hydroelectric power plants by ensuring solutions are safe, reliable, cost-effective, and delivered on time and to specification. Leads engineered reliability across project technical strategy, equipment design, project design planning, delivery, and installation.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordination: Coordinate engineering resources to meet forecasted and running projects and service needs.
  • Approve Design Changes: Review and approve minor design modifications in accordance with established design review and change-control processes.
  • Technical Support: Execute engineering studies to deliver safe, reliable solutions, and provide technical direction to advisors and engineers.
  • Enhance Value: Identify and propose value-engineering opportunities that improve customer outcomes and strengthen product differentiation.
  • Coordinate Supply Options: Partner with supply chain to evaluate and select cost-effective sourcing and supply solutions.
  • Optimize Costs: Develop technical solutions that optimize lifecycle cost while meeting performance, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Guide Repairs: Lead repair technical strategies and ensure procedures are reviewed, verified, and approved to applicable standards.
  • Risk Management: Evaluate and manage technical risks across Offer to Order (OTO) and Order to Cash (OTC) to protect safety, quality, schedule, and cost commitments.
  • Key spokesperson: Represent the organization internally and externally on critical technical matters, and lead customer-facing technical decisions and problem resolution to meet company and customer requirements.


Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering with advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience in engineering environment, specifically energy/hydro power generation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy to work product
  • Ability to drive engineering excellence culture
  • Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
