Job Summary

The Chief - Production Engineering leads the Production Engineering organization responsible for manufacturing support, build sequence optimization, tooling coordination, and production issue resolution across DHC operations.

Accountabilities
  • Lead and develop Production Engineering personnel supporting aircraft assembly and modification activities.
  • Coordinate engineering support for manufacturing readiness and production change incorporation.
  • Drive rapid resolution of production non-conformances and build interruptions.
  • Support tooling, methods, and production process optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinate engineering support during aircraft delivery, ground runs, and flight test activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement focused on production efficiency and first-time quality.


Education Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Materials, or related Engineering discipline

Experience, Skills and Attitude
  • Progressive aerospace engineering experience supporting aircraft development, certification, production, modification, or sustaining activities.
  • Strong understanding of Transport Canada, FAA, and EASA regulatory requirements applicable to the role.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capability.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensing as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
  • Demonstrates strong aerospace engineering judgement and technical credibility.
  • Builds alignment and trust across Engineering, Production, Certification, and Program organizations.
  • Drives accountability, execution discipline, and continuous improvement.
  • Promotes practical, certifiable, manufacturable, and customer-focused engineering solutions.
