Inova Children's cares for medically complex children from the prenatal period through adulthood. The Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation will work collaboratively across pediatric specialties to support the care of children with congenital and acquired neurologic, musculoskeletal and developmental conditions.
Your role includes: - Blend of inpatient consults, outpatient clinic, and multi-disciplinary/complex care.
- Management of patients with chronic and long-term conditions, including spina bifida, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, stroke, trauma, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders, orthopedic oncology, and other pediatric functional impairments.
- Collaborates with physicians in pediatric neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, and other multidisciplinary teams to support the care of medically complex children.
- Works collaboratively with Inova Children's Rehabilitation (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy) to support day to day patient care.
- Order or perform medical diagnostic or clinical tests.
- Write routine orders for appropriate laboratory studies, imaging, and consultations.
- Perform and record history and physical examinations.
- Evaluate treatment options and develop individualized treatment plans.

Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician Position Details:- Completion of a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency and Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Fellowship
Minimum Qualifications:- Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification: Board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine
- Experience: successful completion of ACGME accredited Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program and successful completion of Pediatric Rehabilitation fellowship.
- Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.
- Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
- Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
