OverviewChief Operating Officer (COO) Henry Ford Behavioral Health Hospital - West Bloomfield, MIHenry Ford Behavioral Health Hospital is a brand-new, 192-bed inpatient facility providing compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for adolescents, adults, and seniors. Located on a tranquil 15-acre campus in West Bloomfield, Michigan, our hospital offers cutting-edge programs for individuals facing mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders.
We're seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead daily hospital operations and partner closely with clinical and administrative leaders. The ideal candidate will bring strong behavioral health operations experience, a strategic mindset, and a passion for driving excellence in care, safety, and service.
Responsibilities- Oversee one or more departments to ensure efficient operations and the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services.
- Implement and manage programs that foster employee commitment to quality and service excellence.
- Actively contribute to strategic planning initiatives, including regulatory compliance and quality improvement efforts.
- Serve as the acting facility leader in the absence of the CEO.
- Support the CEO in developing, communicating, and executing effective strategies and processes across the organization.
- Lead departmental staff, including recruitment, development, training, performance management, and communication, to ensure optimal team performance and operational efficiency.
- Assist in budget management, ensuring departments operate within financial limits.
- Analyze operational processes to align with business objectives and meet patient care needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years or more in a leadership role in a related field is required
- Five or more years of hands-on clinical or hospital operations in the behavioral health field with supervisorial and personnel management experience
- P&L responsibilities over service lines and/or departments
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:- Independent clinical licensure in CA (LPCC, LMFT, LWSW) preferred.
