Role Summary

DaVita is seeking a highly strategic, execution-oriented, and dynamic Chief of Staff (CoS) to partner with the Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this critical role, you will act as an orchestration driver for the CIO, ensuring that the organization's strategic priorities, operational rhythms, and cross-functional initiatives are executed seamlessly.

The Chief of Staff will serve as a key connector between the CIO, the Technology Core Team and key partners across the Village (e.g., Field, People Services, Finance). You will help maximize the CIO's reach and impact by anticipating needs, driving alignment, and ensuring that executive time is focused on the highest-value priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution
  • Support the CIO in the development and execution of annual strategic plans, cross-functional synthetization of OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and department scorecards for technology.
  • Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the CIO.
  • Monitor critical programs and portfolios, surfacing risks, constraints, and actionable insights into the CIO before they escalate. i.e. make sure the trains are running on time.

Executive Operations & Cadence
  • Help to design and orchestrate the operating rhythm for the Technology organization, including CIO routines (CEO Reviews, Reflections Conversations, etc).
  • Support CIO to build meeting agendas, facilitate discussions, track follow-up actions, and drive accountability across the leadership team.
  • Serve as an effective support for the CIO, triaging escalations, and optimizing the CIO's engagement in critical decisions.

Communications & Alignment
  • In partnership with the Technology Core Team and Internal Programs team, coordinate high-impact executive communications for CIO to CEO, Board of Directors, and other executive stakeholders.
  • Partner with CIO to prepare information for discussions with Mile High leaders on a regular basis.
  • Act as a proxy for the CIO when necessary, representing the organization's perspective in cross-functional forums.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Alignment
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with Technology Core Team.
  • Act as an integrator and "connect the dots" across siloed initiatives to ensure alignment between Technology and the broader DaVita clinical and business objectives.
  • Partner closely with the Chiefs of Staff of peer executives across the enterprise to coordinate strategic plans, ensure cross-departmental alignment, and drive unified execution.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 10-12+ years of progressive experience in technology operations and/or product management is required. Specific experience with large enterprise programs and AI implementations is required.
  • Healthcare Experience: Experience in technology strategy and operations in Provider companies required.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Other Experience: Prior experience as Chief of Staff or in a business management role supporting a C-level technology executive is highly preferred.
  • Strategic Acumen: Strong ability to synthesize complex technical and business information into clear, actionable strategies and narratives.
  • Executive Presence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to and challenging senior executives.
  • Execution Focus: A "get-stuff-done" (GSD) mentality with a track record of driving large-scale initiatives from inception to completion within a matrixed organization.
  • Emotional Intelligence: High EQ with the ability to build relationships, influence without formal authority, and navigate sensitive organizational dynamics effectively.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced environment, highly adaptable to changing priorities, and capable of bringing order to ambiguity.
