Overview

This hybrid position will be located at our New York Corporate Office. Expectations for hybrid in-office schedule is three days a week, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

(This role will be based Onsite in our New York Headquarters, Hybrid, with Regular Travel)

The Chief of Staff (CoS) to the SVP, Chief Financial Officer, North America serves as a strategic partner, integrator, and trusted advisor to the senior executive. This role drives alignment across the Finance organization and key enterprise stakeholders, manages critical strategic initiatives, and ensures the CFO remains focused on the organization's highest priorities. Success in this role requires a detail-oriented, strategic thinker who is results-driven and able to operate with a high degree of urgency while maintaining a calm and effective presence in complex, fast-paced environments. The ideal candidate is self motivated, highly collaborative, intellectually curious, and capable of influencing across all levels of the organization. The individual must be an effective decision-maker, a strong communicator, and comfortable navigating ambiguity while balancing both strategic priorities and operational execution. Regular travel is required. This role is intentionally designed as a 2-3 year developmental opportunity, preparing a high potential leader for broader enterprise roles.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Business Alignment
• Partner closely with the CFO to define, refine, and communicate the Finance organization's overall vision, strategy, and annual priorities.
• Drive alignment across Finance leadership and key cross functional partners, ensuring strategic initiatives are clearly articulated, well understood, and consistently executed.
• Support enterprise planning processes, including long-range planning, annual operating plans, and strategic business reviews.
• Monitor progress against key financial, operational, and strategic objectives, identifying risks and opportunities and recommending actions as needed.

2. Executive Support & Advisory
• Serve as a trusted advisor and liaison between the CFO, Finance leadership team, executive leadership, business partners, and internal/external stakeholders.
• Communicate project requirements, gather and synthesize updates, identify next steps, and proactively resolve issues that could impact strategic priorities.
• Prepare executive-level materials, presentations, talking points, and briefing documents for board meetings, leadership reviews, investor interactions, and business updates.
• Escalate risks, emerging issues, and decision points appropriately, ensuring the CFO maintains clear visibility into priorities, challenges and organizational performance.

3. Leadership Team Effectiveness & Stakeholder Management
• Lead the preparation, advanced planning, and orchestration of Finance leadership meetings, business reviews, board-related discussions, and key stakeholder engagements.
• Ensure meeting objectives are clear, participants are well prepared, and critical action items and next steps are captured, assigned, and tracked to completion.
• Foster collaboration across Finance and business functions, helping drive alignment, accountability, and effective decision-making.
• Support executive communications and change management efforts related to Finance initiatives and enterprise priorities.

4. Project Management & Special Initiatives
• Independently lead and execute special ad hoc projects end to end, often requiring deep understanding of organizational objectives, particularly across Finance and operational functions.
• Apply strong discretion and maintain strict confidentiality when managing sensitive or high visibility initiatives.
• Establish structure, process, and accountability mechanisms to move complex workstreams forward with clarity and speed.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI-enabled tools and technologies across the Finance organization to enhance efficiency, insights, and overall team effectiveness.

Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience influencing and partnering with senior leaders in a complex, matrixed environment.
• Strong financial acumen and understanding of corporate finance, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, performance management, and business strategy.
• Ability to synthesize complex financial and business information into clear recommendations and executive-level communications.
• Advanced organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to create clarity in ambiguity.
• Experience leading cross functional initiatives or facilitating complex project delivery preferred.

Benefits

The annual base salary range is $130,000-$150,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
