Southeast Behavioral Hospital:

Southeast Behavioral Hospital is excited to offer a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Southeast Missouri. Our 102-provides a wide range of mental, emotional and behavioral health services for children, teens, adults and seniors experiencing mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety and co-occurring substance use issues. Located on the banks of the Mississippi River, the Cape Girardeau region has long been an area of vibrant commerce and abundance, with significant roots in agriculture and trading posts which produced generations of people full of pride and a determination to put in a hard day's work. JOB SUMMARY :

The Chief Nursing Officer / Director of Nursing / Director of Nursing is responsible for the development, organization, provision , and evaluation of all nursing functions within the facility with 24/7 responsibility for those functions . He/she utilizes sound client/resident care standards and recognized nursing standards of practice in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and models of nursing care . Leadership is provided with consideration of the organization as a whole; promoting an atmosphere of respect and encouragement for professional growth for all nursing staff members . The Chief Nursing Officer / Director of Nursing collaborates with other facility leaders on all matters relevant to the delivery of quality client/resident care services and continually assesses the utilization of the collaborative process among the nursing staff at all le vels and other disciplines/departments to ensure organized, comprehensive, efficient, and effective client/resident care . The Chief Nursing Officer / Director of Nursing reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education : BSN required . Master's degree in Nursing with psychiatric emphasis preferred .

Experience : Minimum of 5 years of psychiatric nursing experience with progressive supervisory experience .

License: RN l icensed in state of Missouri .

Additional Requirements :
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others' activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment
  • Proficiency with common computer based applications such as electronic mail, word processing and various databases, whether PC, network or mainframe based.
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional US travel to conferences and UHS management meetings.
