Position Summary - Chief Medical Officer (CMO)Asante Medical Group (AMG) is seeking a transformational physician leader to serve as Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Reporting directly to the CEO of AMG, the CMO provides strategic and operational leadership for clinical care delivery across the medical group, overseeing clinical operations, quality and patient safety, provider alignment, and overall clinical performance.
The CMO partners closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, operational leaders, and executive leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care. This executive leader will champion clinical excellence, physician engagement, quality improvement, and innovation while advancing Asante's strategic priorities and supporting continued growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership & Strategy- Provide strategic leadership to enhance clinical quality, patient outcomes, and operational performance across AMG.
- Develop and implement evidence-based clinical practices, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Align medical group clinical priorities with organizational goals, including culture, quality, growth, and financial sustainability
Quality, Safety & Clinical Excellence- Lead quality improvement and patient safety programs across the medical group.
- Monitor clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and performance metrics.
Physician & APP Engagement- Partner with physician leaders to strengthen provider engagement, collaboration, and professional development.
- Foster strong alignment among physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and operational leaders.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, mutual respect, and shared accountability.
Clinical Operations- Collaborate with operational leadership to improve access, efficiency, and patient experience.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain adherence to accreditation standards, clinical policies, and patient safety regulations.
Financial Stewardship & Growth- Partner with executive and financial leaders to support sustainable clinical operations.
- Support growth strategies, service line development, and innovative care delivery models.
Qualifications- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Current Oregon Medical Board licensure.
- Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience within a physician practice group, medical group, or healthcare organization.
Preferred- Board certification in a clinical specialty.
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or related field.
- Experience leading quality improvement, clinical integration, population health, and value-based care initiatives.
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHRs) and healthcare technology platforms.
