Overview

The Chief Luxury Correspondent brings a "right-brain/left-brain" approach to the reporting and writing of agenda-setting exclusives, news analyses and analytical-style features to support The Business of Fashion's coverage of the American luxury fashion market. Successful candidates must possess strong analytical thinking skills, fluency in consumer culture and sensitivity for the creative side of fashion. This is an exciting opportunity to join the global leader in the market for professional content and services for the fashion and beauty industries. This role is based in New York.

What We Need You to Do

The successful candidate will play a significant role in:
  • Leading BoF's coverage of the US luxury fashion market
  • Delivering agenda-setting exclusives, insightful news analyses and sophisticated analytical-style features, from business profiles to cultural trend stories, for intelligent, globally-minded fashion industry decision-makers
    • 1-2 news or news analysis pieces per week
    • 1 feature piece per week
  • Leading BoF's coverage of New York Fashion Week
  • Acting as an brand ambassador and deepen BoF's industry relationships in the US

Who You Are
  • You have solid professional experience as a senior reporter or editor
  • You have a sophisticated grasp of the fashion business.
  • You have acute news judgment.
  • You have a clear understanding of BoF's target reader: intelligent, globally-minded executives, entrepreneurs and creatives.
  • You must thrive in a fast-paced environment, perform under pressure, command authority and be agile enough to manage multiple stories at the same time with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.
  • You have a willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of a 24-hour news cycle.
  • You have strong writing skills and an ability to tell complex stories with flair.
