Overview
Element has an opportunity for an experienced FAA Chief Inspector. The Chief Inspector will be responsible for FAA program oversight across the Fort Myers, FL location and the Field Services organization.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you are an essential member of the management team and responsible for overall quality performance. This role works closely with multiple general managers, quality leaders and operational / technical / field services colleagues. This includes the Element quality management system (QMS), Prime approvals, improving First Time Right, maintaining and developing relationships with Aerospace Primes and customers and improving processes. The successful candidate will have a sound working knowledge of FAA Repair Stations and Nadcap requirements in relation to Nondestructive Testing.
Salary: $130,000- $180,000/yr DOE
Responsibilities
• Supervises and performs NDT of US civil aviation articles in accordance with FAA-approved/accepted technical data under the NIC air agency certificate and operations specifications.
• Serves as the primary point of contact and coordinates NDT work with all MRO customers.
• Ensures that, when work is accomplished away from the repair station, the proposed location is appropriate for the work.
• Maintains the overall quality and condition of NIC's housing, facilities, tooling, equipment, and materials.
• Returns airworthy articles to service after the above work.
• Performs receiving inspections.
• Trains inspection personnel as required.
• Updates the repair station roster.
Skills / Qualifications
• Must be thoroughly familiar with tooling, equipment, and materials documentation requirements as well as general repair station operations, standards, and practices.
• Must be thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools utilized to determine the airworthiness of articles.
• Must be proficient in the use of visual inspection aids and inspection equipment utilized to inspect articles in accordance with applicable technical data.
• Must be qualified and certified as an NDT Inspector in accordance with AIA-NAS-410.
• Must be appropriately certificated as a repairman under 14 CFR Part 65.
• Must understand, read, write, and speak English.
• Must be thoroughly familiar with 14 CFR Parts 21, 39, 43, 65, 91, and 145 as they apply to repair stations; as well as the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools utilized to determine the airworthiness of articles on which NDT is being performed.
• Must be proficient in the use of NDT equipment; and visual inspection aids utilized to inspect articles in accordance with applicable technical data.
• Must be thoroughly familiar with all company manuals, procedures and policies.
