Overview

The Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") will report directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer ("CEO"), and he/she will serve on the Company's Executive Committee. With responsibility for the Company's financial planning, accounting and fiscal controls, balance sheet management, treasury operations and capital management strategies, the CFO plays a lead role in advising and supporting the CEO and setting the financial direction for the Company. As the leader of the Finance Department, the CFO will be expected to engage constructively and collaboratively with the Board of Directors and its Audit Committee, the leadership, the Company's shareholders and warehouse banks.

 

The CFO is expected to: lead the development of the Company's financial strategy and plan; identify new/expanded sources of revenue; continue reengineering the Company's cost structure; expand sources of financing; and develop a capital plan for strengthening the Company's balance sheet and positioning the Company for growth and expansion. To successfully execute these responsibilities, the CFO will need to identify the skills and talent that are needed in the Finance Department, assess the financial talent that the Company currently has in place, and strengthen the financial controls infrastructure and ensure that PRMG builds and maintains rigorous processes, controls and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and reviews accuracy of daily and month-end postings to the general ledger.
  • Oversees monthly reconciliation of warehouse line of credit and related cash accounts and preparation of all other accounting reports.
  • Reports to the CEO, at a predetermined time, the total dollar amount of payroll.
  • Coordinates with the Human Resource Department the establishment and maintenance of a system for keeping accurate records of time and attendance for payroll purposes and reporting proper hourly rates for overtime, time off, etc., on a pay-period basis.
  • Oversees the reporting of all deductions for insurance, state and local withholdings, incentive bonuses, overtime, etc., to payroll on a pay- period basis; oversees the reporting for any automatic deposits to be made on behalf of employees per pay period.
Qualifications

Pre-requisites:

  • Broad and extensive work experience in financial analysis, accounting, management information system development, budgeting and risk management work.
  • At least five years of the experience at a management capacity.
  • Minimum three years professional mortgage accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

Skills:

  • Ability to organize, analyze and delegate job assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize operational problems and implement corrective measures.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership abilities that include a high respect for maintaining the confidentiality of all financial matters.
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate orally with co-workers, and with the public in face-to-face, one-on-one and group settings.

Experience:

  • Six years or more of senior financial management experience in mortgage banking preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or economics
