Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - EPC Solar

Department: Finance & Legal

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Jonestown, PA

Description

Coral Reef Partners is seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the company's financial strategy and day-to-day financial operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, treasury, banking, insurance, tax coordination, cash flow management, financial planning, and internal controls.

This is not a purely strategic CFO position. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at both the executive and transactional levels-developing the financial infrastructure needed to support growth while remaining directly involved in financial reporting, project accounting, cash management, forecasting, and other critical finance functions.

The CFO will partner closely with Operations, Project Management, Procurement, Business Development, and executive leadership to improve financial visibility, strengthen project profitability, manage risk, and support Coral Reef's continued growth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all accounting, finance, treasury, and financial reporting functions for Coral Reef Partners.
  • Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Lead annual budgeting and maintain rolling forecasts and long-term financial plans.
  • Manage company cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and capital requirements.
  • Develop financial models, dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting to provide leadership with greater visibility into business performance.
  • Partner with Project Management and Operations to monitor job costing, project margins, WIP, labor utilization, overhead allocation, forecasts, and overall project financial performance.
  • Identify financial risks, cost-saving opportunities, margin improvements, and operational efficiencies across the project lifecycle.
  • Provide project managers and operational leaders with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis support.
  • Oversee and coordinate accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other accounting activities.
  • Maintain relationships with banks, lenders, bonding companies, insurance carriers, CPA firms, and other financial partners.
  • Oversee debt compliance, financing activities, insurance coverage, and capital planning.
  • Coordinate annual financial audits, tax preparation, and regulatory reporting with external accounting and tax partners.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls, financial policies, and scalable accounting processes.
  • Drive process improvements and identify opportunities to automate and enhance financial systems and reporting.
  • Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Evaluate new projects, investments, growth opportunities, and strategic initiatives from a financial perspective.
  • Support the development and execution of long-term financial strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives.
  • Perform other duties and financial projects as assigned by executive leadership.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience, including experience as a Controller, Director of Finance, CFO, or similar senior financial role.
  • Experience supporting a project-based organization such as construction, EPC, engineering, renewable energy, infrastructure, or industrial services.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with job costing, project financial analysis, and ERP/accounting systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to both executive and operational audiences.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance long-term strategy with hands-on financial execution.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA, CMA, and/or MBA.
  • Experience within commercial or utility-scale solar, renewable energy, electrical contracting, EPC, or construction.
  • Experience with project financing, bonding, banking relationships, and lender compliance.
  • Experience building or improving financial processes and systems within a growing organization.

Benefits
  • Paid Holidays
  • Medical / Dental / Vision coverage
  • Health savings account (HSA)
  • Company Paid Life Insurance and Accidental & Dismemberment Insurance
