Description

Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis LLC (MD&A), a world class, global supplier for power generation maintenance services, repairs, and parts in the utility and industrial industries, has an immediate opening for a Chief Engineer of Steam, Gas, & Industrial Turbine and Generator Product Development, Service and Repairs based in Latham NY. MD&A is seeking qualified individuals who have the desire to join a growing organization and an appetite for diverse and technically challenging work. This position reports directly to the CEO of MD&A.

The Chief Engineer of Steam, Gas, and Industrial Turbines & Generators will perform the following activities:
  • Project manage successful completion of major steam, gas, and industrial turbine and generator engineering initiatives
  • Act as the technology expert for MD&A to support sales and commercial opportunities on product offerings
  • Work across divisional engineering team members to deliver a complete commercial package by fostering collaboration across MD&A divisions
  • Participate and lead root cause and risk analysis initiatives across the organization
  • Lead continuous improvement and evolution in reverse engineering processes
  • Perform reviews and approvals of business-critical drawings, processes, and product specifications
  • Maintain traceability, storage, and accessibility of Company's intellectual property
  • Deliver technical presentations for customers, conferences and tradeshows
  • Lead business planning & strategic initiatives related to product and tooling development and financial planning
  • Assist in the evaluation of product line comparisons with key competitors and marketplace requirements
  • Lead internal discussions to assess the viability of new products
  • Drives High Standards for Quality and Safety
  • Manage successful project closeouts
  • Resolve Issues as Needed


Requirements

Education : BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, MS preferred

Relevant Experience : 12-15 years of design engineering experience, power generation or similar with a minimum 5 years of management experience in the power industry

Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication (English), Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, drawings, and test data. Expert analytical, tradeoff, and optimization skills. Proven track record of effectively working cross functionally to achieve business objectives. Fully capable to utilize MS Office Suite, ERP, and PLM software.

Preferred Experience:
  • Superior communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) with capabilities to clearly and concisely deliver information (Data) at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to lead teams and work cross-functionally
  • Strong understanding of USA and global power generation markets
  • Aptitude to foster cooperation and receive support from external organizations
  • Extensive engineering computer software knowledge
  • Experience working for OEM preferred
  • Experience successfully leading teams of professionals


Salary Description

$200,000 - $260,000
