PATH is seeking candidates passionate about helping others make a positive change in their lives to join our Executive Leadership Team as the Chief Development Officer, working out of our main office in Los Angeles, California.

ABOUT THE CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
As part of the Executive Leadership Team, the CDO is responsible for achieving PATH's progressive fundraising goals, managing a robust team (15 members with five direct reports), and being an engaging, mission-driven thought leader with the executive team.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead the creation of a comprehensive, statewide fundraising strategy-from initial engagement to donor acknowledgment and stewardship-that achieves PATH's current goals and increases private revenue incrementally and aggressively each year.
  • Develop a high-performance team culture focused on leadership and accountability at all levels, continuous learning, collaboration, measurement, and goal achievement, with progress tracked quarterly and annually.
  • Oversee directors of philanthropy, grants, media, and marketing to help develop annual plans and budgets and support implementation.
  • Support internal and external communications with the team, leading to broader brand awareness externally and more streamlined messaging internally.
  • Personally secure six- to seven-figure gifts from major donors across California while overseeing the success of a team fully dedicated to individual giving, direct mail, online giving, corporate sponsorships, and event production.
  • Leverage previous experience in planned giving to expand our current program, with full support and participation from staff and board leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, we require all candidates:
  • Eight (8) years of professional experience in managing projects and teams related to development and communications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Regardless of qualifications, candidates must:
  • Have employment eligibility verification
  • Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
  • Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
    • Tuberculosis Test
    • Background Screening
    • Drug Test

DRIVING
Driving is an essential function of this position. To meet the employment requirements for this role, all candidates must:
  • Have reliable transportation
  • A valid driver's license
  • Proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties
  • The ability to qualify for PATH's insurance coverage
