Full Job Description
We're looking for a strategic and collaborative leader to join Asana as our Chief Accounting Officer. In this pivotal role, you will guide our global financial operations, overseeing our Accounting, controllership, billing, and revenue accounting functions. You will lead a high-performing finance team that tracks and seeks to understand the factors driving our growth and success, helping our entire organization achieve its operational and financial goals while embodying our company values. As a core financial leader and Section 16 Officer, you will partner closely with cross-functional executive stakeholders to ensure our business objectives are feasible and our long-term growth is built on an enduring foundation of operational excellence.

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What you'll achieve
  • Lead Asana's global Accounting, controllership, billing, and revenue accounting functions.
  • Serve as an executive Section 16 Officer, ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity, compliance, and rigorous governance for a public corporation.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely execution of all monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year-end financial close processes and reporting.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional executive stakeholders across Finance, Legal, and Product to build scalable financial infrastructure that supports business expansion.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard corporate assets.

About you
  • Proven executive leadership experience managing comprehensive accounting operations in a Chief Accounting Officer or Controller capacity, within a publicly traded company.
  • Deep expertise acting as a Section 16 Officer, with an intimate knowledge of SEC regulations and US GAAP guidelines.
  • Exceptional cross-functional communicator who excels at translating complex financial structures into actionable strategic insights for non-finance leaders.

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $370,000 - $436,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
