The Role
The Chevrolet Residual Value Manager is an enterprise-minded leader accountable for shaping and delivering the Chevrolet residual value strategy across the vehicle portfolio. This role will lead the integration of residual value management, Certified Pre-Owned, and CarBravo priorities to strengthen Chevrolet’s long-term brand equity, customer value proposition, profitability, lease competitiveness, and remarketing performance.

As an eighth-level manager, this leader will set strategic direction, establish operating priorities, and drive measurable business outcomes across complex, cross-functional workstreams. The role requires the ability to translate market intelligence, customer behavior, product strategy, pricing, content, packaging, incentive, and lifecycle decisions into clear residual value actions for Chevrolet leadership and partner organizations.

The successful candidate will operate with significant autonomy and enterprise perspective, make sound decisions in ambiguous and rapidly changing conditions, and influence outcomes through direct leadership, indirect leadership, and executive-level partnerships. They will serve as Chevrolet’s senior residual value subject matter expert and primary advocate with internal stakeholders, General Motors Financial, external valuation and guidebook partners, and remarketing organizations.
This is an opportunity to help define the next generation of Chevrolet performance from a residual value standpoint while working on an iconic automotive brand with a dedicated, fast-paced, dynamic, and highly engaged team.
This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to Warren – GM Global Technical Center – Cadillac Tower a minimum of three times per week, or at another frequency dictated by the business.

What You’ll Do

Set Chevrolet’s residual value strategy and business direction
  • Establish and advance a multi-year Chevrolet residual value strategy that supports brand consideration, affordability, lease competitiveness, profitability, customer loyalty, and long-term used vehicle strength.
  • Translate enterprise, brand, portfolio, and market objectives into an integrated residual value operating plan with clear priorities, ownership, milestones, and performance measures.
  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of opportunities to improve Chevrolet residual values across the product lifecycle, from program concept through launch, in-market performance, and remarketing.
  • Serve as the primary Chevrolet advisor on residual value implications of product, content, packaging, pricing, incentive, allocation, volume, and lease strategy decisions.
  • Develop residual value guidance and recommendations for product program business cases, portfolio decisions, and executive reviews.
  • Anticipate industry, regulatory, technology, consumer, competitive, and economic shifts that may affect used vehicle demand, lease economics, and Chevrolet residual performance.
Lead enterprise and cross-functional execution
  • Provide strategic leadership across Chevrolet Sales Operations, Product Development, Marketing, Product Marketing, Order Fulfillment, GM Financial, Certified Pre-Owned, CarBravo, Remarketing, Company Vehicle Operations, and other partner organizations.
  • Build alignment across stakeholders with different objectives, create clarity in complex situations, and influence decisions without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Lead cross-functional residual-enhancing strategies and ensure recommendations are converted into executable actions with accountable owners.
  • Act as Chevrolet’s lead representative for GM and GM Financial remarketing initiatives, programs, and strategic opportunities.
  • Partner with GM Certified Used Vehicle and CarBravo leadership to connect new-vehicle actions with used-vehicle customer experience, inventory quality, lifecycle value, and brand trust.
  • Lead Chevrolet activities with Company Vehicle Operations and ensure fleet, demonstration, and vehicle-use decisions are evaluated for their residual value implications.
  • Take ownership of broader Chevrolet Sales Operations initiatives when appropriate, including sales and profit improvement, mix optimization, lease opportunities, incentive effectiveness, and portfolio performance.
Drive external valuation and market partnerships
  • Own the strategic relationship with external guidebook and valuation partners, including J.D. Power, Automotive Lease Guide, Kelley Blue Book, and Black Book.
  • Establish effective engagement strategies that communicate Chevrolet product and market realities, strengthen data quality, and improve the accuracy and competitiveness of published residual values.
  • Lead the preparation, positioning, and execution of new model-year residual value launch events and external partner engagements.
  • Monitor competitive, market, and used-vehicle trends to identify emerging risks and opportunities, and convert insights into timely business recommendations.
Deliver portfolio, lease, and performance outcomes
  • Ensure timely publication of residual values for every Chevrolet model, trim, and relevant lifecycle milestone.
  • Identify optimal lease models, trims, terms, and configurations and lead the development of lease model recommendations in partnership with GM Financial and relevant business teams.
  • Manage off-lease volume forecasts and communicate implications to Sales Operations, Remarketing, GM Financial, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead bi-monthly residual value performance and driver reporting, including executive-ready insights, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Establish and monitor performance indicators such as residual value attainment, competitive position, lease penetration, used vehicle price retention, forecast accuracy, off-lease volume, program execution, and financial impact.
  • Use data, scenario analysis, and business judgment to assess trade-offs and recommend actions that balance near-term sales objectives with long-term Chevrolet value creation.
Lead people, talent, and operating excellence
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, guidance, and direction to the Chevrolet Residual Value Assistant Manager.
  • Build a high-performing team culture grounded in accountability, inclusion, collaboration, curiosity, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • Set clear expectations, delegate effectively, develop talent, and create opportunities for team members to expand their enterprise leadership capabilities.
  • Provide direct and indirect leadership across matrixed teams and establish an operating rhythm that drives timely decisions and consistent execution.
  • Create scalable processes, governance, controls, and communication routines that improve the quality, speed, and transparency of residual value decisions.
  • Manage the residual value budget and related administrative and internal control activities, including vehicle loans, logistics coordination, external partner support, and business documentation.
  • Ensure work is completed with a high degree of accuracy, compliance, operational discipline, and data integrity.
  • Perform duties outside the normal scope when needed to support Chevrolet and broader company priorities.
What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, finance, marketing, planning, product management, or a closely related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in the automotive industry, preferably spanning sales, marketing, product management, planning, finance, remarketing, pricing, or portfolio strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience leading people, developing talent, and delivering results through direct and matrixed teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to set strategic direction, establish priorities, and lead complex initiatives from concept through execution and sustained performance.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect residual value drivers to brand strategy, customer value, sales performance, profitability, and enterprise outcomes.
  • Advanced analytical capability, including comfort working with large data sets, financial information, market trends, forecasts, and scenario analyses.
