Full Job Description
Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) is seeking a Senior Chemistry Consultant/Consultant for our Nuclear business unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for primarily Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) chemistry consulting work supporting the energy industry. The role will be to support the Chemistry Services team in PWR chemistry related services and support such as open and closed cooling water, primary and secondary chemistry systems, troubleshooting efforts, assessments, chemistry related equipment, and engineering support.

The work environment is a dynamic team including potentially utilizing other technical expertise within Structural Integrity (e.g., Vessel and Internals, Materials, Vibration, etc.) based on project requirements. The role will support and perform analysis on projects that range from chemical optimization, transient modeling, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) research efforts, utility troubleshooting, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Participation in utility assessments (e.g., radiation source term, chemistry-related system optimization, chemical treatment optimization, etc.)
  • Participation in business development activities, including learning the business model that makes SIA successful.
  • Participation in EPRI and SIA related research initiatives
  • Writing and reviewing reports generated from assessments and research
  • Develop, operate, and/or optimize chemistry software


Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of experience in the Nuclear Industry supporting Chemistry and/or Engineering efforts (specifically PWRs)
  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Chemistry, or other related science fields
  • Limited Project Management experience with multiple work groups
  • Ability to travel to support clients and business development efforts (~25%)
  • Strength in writing technical reports and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain Nuclear Unescorted Access Authorization (UAA) as required


Desired Skills/Qualifications:
  • >10 years of experience in the Nuclear Industry supporting Chemistry and/or Engineering efforts including modeling and troubleshooting (specifically PWRs)
  • Previously qualified as a chemistry technician, staff chemist, staff engineer, or Senior Reactor Operator license
  • Experience with NuclearIQ and Modeling (e.g., mass balances, cleanup curves, resin, CHECWORKS, ChemWorks Tools, etc.)
  • Significant Project Management experience
  • Significant Business Development experience in the Nuclear Industry
