Chef de Cuisine: Rosewood Calistoga
THE TEAM
At Rosewood Calistoga, our Culinary team is dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences that celebrate the spirit of wine country while reflecting the highest standards of luxury hospitality. From thoughtfully crafted menus to exceptional execution, the team plays a vital role in shaping the guest journey through creativity, authenticity, and excellence. As Chef de Cuisine, you will report to the Director of Culinary / Executive Chef and lead a talented brigade of Sous Chefs, Chef de Partie, Commis Chefs, and Apprentices. Working closely with Food & Beverage, Procurement, Stewarding, and operational leaders across the resort, you will help drive culinary innovation, operational excellence, and an inspiring team culture.
YOUR ROLE
As Chef de Cuisine, you will lead the strategic and day-to-day operation of the kitchen, ensuring exceptional quality, consistency, creativity, and performance across all culinary offerings. You will translate the resort's culinary vision into extraordinary dining experiences while balancing innovation, operational discipline, financial performance, and guest satisfaction. Through visible leadership and a passion for excellence, you will develop culinary talent, champion food safety and sustainability, cultivate relationships with local producers and artisans, and create menus that celebrate seasonality and the unique character of Calistoga. Your success will be measured through guest satisfaction, team engagement, operational efficiency, financial performance, and the continued evolution of Rosewood Calistoga's culinary reputation.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE THE PLACE
* Lead and inspire the culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences that reflect Rosewood's luxury standards and culinary philosophy.
* Develop and implement seasonal menus, culinary standards, and innovative food concepts aligned with the resort's vision and business objectives.
* Oversee all kitchen production, ensuring consistency, quality, presentation, and execution at every service.
* Champion food safety, sanitation, HACCP compliance, and adherence to all local regulatory requirements.
* Build strong relationships with local farmers, growers, ranchers, and artisan suppliers to showcase the best regional ingredients.
* Continuously evaluate culinary trends, market developments, and guest preferences to keep offerings fresh, relevant, and competitive.
* Partner closely with Procurement to source exceptional products while maintaining strong cost controls.
* Manage food costs, inventory, waste reduction initiatives, labor productivity, and departmental resources to support financial objectives.
* Ensure all recipes, specifications, allergen information, costing documents, and culinary standards are accurately maintained.
* Taste, review, and provide feedback on products throughout the operation to ensure exceptional quality and consistency.
* Support outlet performance by creating products and experiences that enhance guest satisfaction and drive revenue.
* Lead departmental communications, briefings, training sessions, and performance conversations that support team success.
* Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture built on accountability, engagement, learning, and recognition.
* Support recruitment, succession planning, and talent development to ensure a strong pipeline of future culinary leaders.
* Act as an ambassador of Rosewood's values, culture, and commitment to Relationship Hospitality.

Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $95,000 to 105,000 annually. This is the pay range for this position that the company reasonably expects to pay. This position may be eligible for bonuses. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on several factors, such as experience, type of experience, location, and education.
