Job Title

Chairperson, Psychology and Counseling (Tenure Track)
Essential Job Functions
• Provides essential leadership to develop and enhance undergraduate and graduate Psychology and Counseling programs in concert with program
faculty.
• Develops and monitors the scheduling of courses and faculty teaching assignments to ensure optimal distribution of faculty time among teaching,
research, and extension, while ensuring students graduate within the time allotted for the degree.
• Works with faculty to upgrade courses and curricula, as needed, to ensure graduating students are nationally and globally competitive.
• Develops and implements effective student recruitment and retention strategies in collaboration with faculty and staff, the Dean, and other
stakeholders.
• Serves as liaison with the private sector, government agencies, and professional associations.
• Teaches at least one (1} course per semester in the field of expertise.
• Leads departmental planning, management, and evaluation activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Education - Earned doctorate (Ph.D., Psy.D., or equivalent terminal degree} in Psychology, Counseling, or closely related discipline
Minimum Experience
• Five (S} years' field experience in Clinical practice experience in counseling, clinical mental health, or psychology-related field
• Five (5) years teaching experience at the college or university level
• Teaching and research qualifying the incumbent for at least the rank of Associate Professor in the area of specialization
Licenses/Certifications - Preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• In-depth knowledge of Psychology and Counseling disciplines
• Knowledge of trends and best practices in higher education related to psychology
